OUR MISSION

The mission of Inclusv is to ensure staff of color are found at every professional level within the political sector. This includes nonprofits, government, government affairs, gov/civic-tech, issue advocacy, foundations, campaigns and elections. We believe the world we want to build together will get there faster & better when our organizations & institutions are reflective of our people.

OUR METHOD

Inclusv is a community of thousands of Black, Indigenous & People of color in politics and advocacy who are dedicated to developing their careers in this field and employers who are committed to strengthening their efforts to make diversity, equity and inclusion a priority in their organizations.  We pursue this work with three primary stakeholder communities:

STAFF: Inclusv recognizes that it is only as strong as its members.  We spend the bulk of our time serving current and prospective employees with access to information about job opportunities, professional development training, and mentorship.  Our membership is free, all it requires is an upload of your resume, which you can do HERE. After joining Inclusv you will receive the Inclusv Opportunity List – which are weekly emails with links to the latest political job openings, and invitations to trainings and webinars with leading political professionals of color.

EMPLOYERS/PARTNERS: Inclusv does things differently because we are people of color who have developed careers in politics and hold the expertise of the systemic barriers that exist in a professional field where hiring is dominated by informal processes and networks. Our core services to employers are:

  • Annual subscription to Opportunity List posts
  • Jobs board
  • Co-branding & digital events
  • Practice norm development & reports
  • Culturally competent career development training
  • Post-campaign cycle staff off-boarding services
  • Management Coaching
  • DEI Consulting

To share a job opening with Inclusv members on The Inclusv Opportunity List, send a link to the job description as well as text stating the position’s title and location to [email protected] by COB Wednesdays to be processed for that week’s list.

PROGRESSIVE COMMUNITY: Inclusv aims to be a leading advocate for people of color working in politics and advocacy.  We engage in public advocacy efforts to elevate dialogue around racial diversity, equity and inclusion within the political sector by sharing best practices and fostering an environment of transparency and accountability.  To read about our advocacy efforts visit our News & Updates page.

Educators/Students: Many of the services that Inclusv provides, including resume workshops, intro to careers in politics seminars, and mock interviews, are perfect for students about to enter the workforce. We speak at colleges frequently. Contact us at [email protected] if you’re interested in bringing Inclusv to your campus virtually or in-person.
